Prepare the Chicken
- In a mixing bowl, combine honey BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Add the chicken breasts to the bowl and coat them evenly with the sauce. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Cook the Chicken
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Prepare the Rice
- In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the rice and salt, stir, and reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer for about 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and stir in butter if desired.
Serve
- Slice the grilled chicken and serve it over a bed of rice. Drizzle with additional honey BBQ sauce if desired.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
