Ingredients
  

Bread
  • 8 slices whole grain bread or your choice of bread
Ham
  • 8 ounces sliced ham preferably honey or smoked
Cheese
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese or cheese of your choice
Condiments
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise or mustard
  • 4 slices tomato optional
  • 4 leaves lettuce optional

Method
 

Assemble the Sandwich
  1. Lay out 4 slices of bread on a clean cutting board.
  2. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each slice of bread.
  3. Layer 2 ounces of sliced ham on top of 4 of the slices.
  4. Add a slice of Swiss cheese on top of the ham.
  5. If desired, add a slice of tomato and a leaf of lettuce.
  6. Top with the remaining slices of bread to complete the sandwiches.
  7. Cut each sandwich in half and serve on a plate.
