Prepare the Batter
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, sour cream, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in any optional add-ins like walnuts or chocolate chips.
Bake the Bread
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
