Prepare the Beans
- Rinse the soaked navy beans and place them in a large pot. Cover with fresh water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour until tender.
Make the Sauce
- In a separate bowl, mix together ketchup, water, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Combine and Bake
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Drain the beans and transfer them to a baking dish. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, then pour the sauce over the beans. Stir to combine.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 3 hours. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes to thicken the sauce.
