Ingredients
  

Fritter Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 cup milk
Filling
  • 2 cups apples peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
For Frying
  • 4 cups vegetable oil for frying
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. In a bowl, combine diced apples, lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.
Make the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the beaten egg and milk. Gradually add to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Combine and Fry
  1. Fold the apple mixture into the batter until evenly distributed.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat (about 350°F).
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Remove fritters and drain on paper towels.
Glaze the Fritters
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters before serving.
