Instructions

- Process half the pistachios into a fine powder; coarsely chop the remainder for garnish.
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes). Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
- Gradually mix in flour, baking powder, ground pistachios, and salt alternately with milk until smooth. Fold in coarsely chopped pistachios.
- Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool before frosting.
