Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pistachios)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup honey

Instructions

  1. Create the Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix warm milk, melted butter, and eggs in another bowl; combine with dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth. Place it in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  3. Prepare the Filling: While the dough rises, mix chopped nuts with cinnamon and honey in a bowl.
  4. Roll Out: Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
  5. Add Filling & Roll Up: Spread the nut mixture over the dough. Starting from one long edge, roll tightly into a log shape and slice into equal pieces.
  6. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange buns in a greased dish; cover and let rise again for about 30 minutes. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
