Description
A sticky, savory-sweet dish with tender chicken coated in a delicious honey garlic soy glaze. Perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep!
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- ⅓ cup soy sauce
- ⅓ cup honey
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for slurry)
- Optional garnish: sesame seeds, chopped green onions
Instructions
- Sear Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken thighs and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Prepare Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté garlic for 1 minute. Stir in soy sauce, honey, vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer.
- Thicken Sauce: Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Add to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
- Coat Chicken: Return chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and glazed.
- Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot with rice or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- Use bone-in chicken thighs for extra juiciness, adjusting cooking time as needed.
- Substitute honey with maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to a month.
