- 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brown the beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef with chopped onion over medium heat until browned and crumbly. Drain any excess fat.
- Layer the casserole: In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the potato slices, followed by half of the beef mixture. Repeat the layers.
- Mix the sauce: In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour this mixture over the layers in the baking dish.
- Top with cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
