- 1 ciabatta bread loaf, cut in half lengthwise
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 2 medium ripe tomatoes, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves (about 12-15 leaves)
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Slice the ciabatta bread horizontally and lightly drizzle both sides with olive oil.
- Layer the bottom half with mozzarella slices, followed by tomato slices and fresh basil leaves.
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze, season with salt and pepper.
- Top with the other half of bread and slice diagonally.
Notes
- Use room temperature mozzarella for the best flavor
- Choose ripe but firm tomatoes to prevent sogginess
