Description

A festive quick bread combining rich chocolate and cool peppermint, perfect for holiday gatherings or winter treats.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup crushed candy canes

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • Mix dry ingredients in one bowl, wet ingredients in another.
  • Combine wet and dry mixtures until just blended.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and 1/4 cup candy canes.
  • Pour into prepared pan, sprinkle remaining candy canes on top.
  • Bake 55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

  • Store in airtight container for up to 5 days
